I Promise This Is a One-Time Deal

I never discuss politics here. There are many reasons I have not in the past – if I think you people are sensitive about everyday stuff (and let’s face it, many of you are), I cannot imagine the shitstorm a political argument would create – but the honest to God truth for why I don’t discuss politics at this little site is simple: I get enough real life in real life; we don’t need to have deep and meaningful discussions when I can entertain you people with stories about what a dumbass I am. I like to keep this place pretty much ‘depth free’ – in other words, I enjoy just how shallow my little corner of the Internet can be. But sometimes I’m just too damn opinionated for my own good. So without getting too into my beliefs and political leanings here, let me just say the following and be done with it:

I could not be enjoying this (oh, and this) more.

Gasp! A Jewish girl living in New York City is going to vote Democrat?! I can't believe it! My foundations are shaken, and all I ever knew is false and a lie. Just teasing.

I have to admit, it is amusing to follow the story. McCain's a gambler, and he threw the dice and got burned. I'm not ready to count him out yet, though--the man has made a career of outliving and outlasting his opponents.

Cool I LOVE stereotypes! I can't believe it took one whole commenter to point out that OF COURSE I'm a democrat, since I am in fact Jewish and from the East Coast. Thanks for the insight dude.

Anytime, that insight was free. Look, just join all my other blogging friends in openly being a Democrat. If a Republican reader is so touchy that they're going to leave just because you join the 50% of our country that votes Democrat, you don't need them anyway. I had to work through a lengthy paragraph of disclaimers just to get to one sentence worth of links. With all the build-up, I thought I was going to get a 5000 word essay on Russian history or something.

Here, let me re-write the post for you: "I'm Redhead, and I tend to vote Democratic. I could not be enjoying this more." Easy, isn't it?

I would just like to add that I cannot WAIT until these people get out of my city. I may have to throw a The Elephants are GONE! party...

mcb: Hey, be nice about my disclaimers - I was trying to talk politics without really getting political...IT'S NOT EASY!

alex: Will you have deep fried chocolate chip cookies there?

Twice in one week, Red? I think my aorta just tried to jump out of my chest. Would that get you to the party though? I should make a note of that...
